This notice explains how information is handled when you use the ButterThief Ltd website and its linked services.

Who we are

ButterThief Ltd (company number 17542650) is a UK-registered independent mobile game development company, registered in England and Wales. Its registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. ButterThief Ltd is the data controller for personal information it uses in connection with this website. Information involved when you visit

The site is made from static pages. Its project code contains no contact form, user account, analytics, advertising or first-party cookie code. When the site is hosted, the hosting provider may create technical and security logs such as IP address, requested page, date and time, and browser or device details. The provider and retention period depend on the final hosting arrangement and should be confirmed before launch.

The site requests its typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google’s font services and may send technical request information, including your IP address and browser details. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

The About page offers an OpenStreetMap embed. It does not contact OpenStreetMap until you select “Load interactive map” or follow the “Open map” link. If you do, your browser requests map content from the OpenStreetMap Foundation, which may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device details, referring page and request time. Emails you send

The contact links open your own email application; the website does not send a message for you. If you choose to email us, we receive the details in your message, such as your name, email address, message and any attachments. Email providers involved in sending or storing the message also process it under their own terms.

We use an enquiry to respond and manage the matter raised. We rely on our legitimate interests in handling business and support correspondence, and, where relevant, on taking steps you request before entering into an agreement or meeting a legal obligation.

Cookies and similar technologies

The project contains no analytics or advertising tools and no code that sets ButterThief Ltd cookies. Google Fonts is requested to display the site’s typefaces. The OpenStreetMap embed is requested only after you choose to load the map. Those third-party services operate independently; refer to their privacy notices for information about any technologies they use.

Sharing and transfers

Information may be handled by the website host, Google Fonts, the OpenStreetMap Foundation when you load the map, and email providers involved in your correspondence. The third-party services may process information outside the UK. We do not control their own processing; their privacy notices explain their arrangements.

How long information is kept

We keep email correspondence for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any reasonable follow-up, then delete it unless we need to retain it to meet a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend legal claims. The hosting provider controls how long these logs are kept; the applicable retention period should be confirmed for the production setup.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances and legal basis, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion or restriction, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or request portability where that right applies.
